Mitzvot

El servicio requiere esfuerzo. Las mitzvot son el servicio del cuerpo. La plegaria es el servicio del corazón. El estudio de la Torá es el servicio de la mente.

Service requires toil. Mitzvot are the service of the body. Prayer is the service of the heart. Torah study is the service of the mind.

Neshamá

3 "esfuerzos": mitzvot, plegaria y estudio de Torá. El primero rectifica nuestra fuerza de vida (nefesh), el segundo el espíritu (ruaj) y el tercero el alma (neshamá).

. The 1st rectifies one's life-force (nefesh), the 2nd - spirit (ruach), the 3rd - soul (neshama).

Los Macabeos

La luz de Jánuca revela el milagro de las luminarias. La calidez de Jánuca revela el coraje y la valentía de los Macabeos.

The light of Chanukah reveals the miracle of the candles.

The warmth of Chanukah reveals the courage and might of the Maccabees.

La luz de Jánuca

La luz de Jánuca nos conecta a los "ojos de la congregación", los sabios de la generación. Su calidez nos conecta al corazón, el rey.

The light of Chanukah connects us to the "eyes of the congregation,"

 the sages of the generation. Warmth connects us to the heart, the king.

La festividad de la luz

Jánuca es la festividad de la luz y el calor. Su luz cura a los ojos para que vean milagros y su calor cura al corazón para amar a todo.

Chanukah is a holiday of light and warmth. Its light heals the eyes to see miracles and its warmth heals the heart to love all.

Jánuca

La mayoría de los profesores no son capaces de distinguir entre la alusinación y la verdadera revelación Divina. Jánuca es la victoria sobre los helenistas de hoy en día.

Most professors are unable to distinguish between hallucination and true Divine revelation. Chanukah is the victory over today's Hellenists.

100%

El Baal Shem Tov estaba simultáneamente 100% arriba y 100 % abajo. Nunca nadie antes alcanzó este estado como lo hizo él.

The Ba'al Shem Tov was 100% above and 100% below simultaneously. No one before him ever attained this state as he did.

Vino

Lo hacía con el propósito de que uses tu libre albedrío para interpretar su extasiado estado espiritual. Su alma estaba "borracha" pero no de vino.

He did it on purpose for you to use your free choice to interpret his ecstatic spiritual state. His soul was "drunk" but not from wine.

Baal Shem Tov

Cuando enseñaba, el Baal Shem Tov ponía una botella de vodka sobre la mesa. Su cara se ponía roja. Te dejó a ti pensar por qué.

The Ba'al Shem Tov would place a bottle of vodka on the table when he taught. His face turned red. He left it to you to think why.

Profesor

Un profesor de la Univerdidad Hebrea de Ierushalaim dice que Moshé estaba drogado cuando recibió los Diez Mandamientos. Seguramente este profesor debe estar dopado, pero por lo menos cree en Moshé.

A professor at Hebrew U says that Moses was on dope when he received the Ten Commandments. He is a dope. But at least he believes in Moses.

Dope

Tienes que ser tonto [dope] para drogarte [dope]. Los judíos no son tontos. Quien diga que algún gran Rebe tomaba droga es un tonto absoluto. Despabilate!!

You have to be a dope to take dope. Jews are not dopes. Whoever says that some great Rabbis took dope is an utter dope. Wake up!

Alofernes

Antes de matar a Alofernes Iehudit le dio de comer queso para adormecerlo. Los narcóticos eran algo común en la cultura griega antigua. Alofernes estaba drogado.

Before killing Aloforni Yehudit fed him cheese to make him drowsy. Narcotics were common in ancient Greek culture. Aloforni was on dope.

David

14 = David. El David completo, 14 al cuadrado, es el poder completo del rey David de vencer a los enemigos de Israel. Iehudit posee ese poder.

14 = David. The full 14^2, David squared, is King David's full power to overcome the enemies of Israel. Yehudit possessed that power.

Numero Atómico

Heroína suena igual que heroína [la droga]. Todo mal tiene su bien correspondiente. La droga tiene la f´órmula C17H17NO(C2H3O2)2, número atómico 196 = 14 al cuadrado.

Iehudit

Iehudit [en inglés Judy] es la heroína de Jánuca. Ella decapitó a Alofornes, el comandante en jefe griego. ¿Dónde encuentras una chica como esta?

Yehudit (in English, Judy) is the heroine of Chanukah. She beheaded Aloforni, the Greek commander-in-chief. Where do you get such a girl?!

Plegraria

Plegaria es el servicio del corazón, la Torá es de la mente y la caridad de las manos. La plegaria trae lluvia, la Torá trae paz y la caridad redención

Prayer is the service of the heart, Torah of the mind, and charity of the hands. Prayer brings rain, Torah peace, and charity redemption.

"Onda"

Rezamos por lluvia. Lluvia = 343 [7 al cubo], plegaria = 515, ambos números simétricos [capicúa]. Juntos son = 858 = 33 veces 26, una "onda"

We pray for rain. Rain = 343 (7 cubed), prayer = 515, both symmetric numbers. Together they = 858 = 33 times 26, a "wave" (33) of God (26).

Reconocer a Dios

Si reconocemos a Dios entonces Dios nos reconoce a nosotros. Si confesamos nuestra maldad entonces Dios "confiesa" nuestra bondad, y nos transformamos así en una esplendorosa realidad.

If we acknowledge God then God acknowledges us. If we confess our bad then God "confesses" our good, and we become a splendorous reality.

Hod

Agradecimiento es uno de los significados de hod, la 8a sefirá [como los 8 días de Jánuca]. Los otros son esplendor, reconocimiento y confesión.

Thanksgiving is one meaning of hod, the 8th sefirah (like the 8 days of Chanukah). The others are splendor, acknowledgment, and confession.

Agradecer

Cuanto más agradeces más recibes y te vuelves más. Ser o no ser es agradecer o no agradecer.

The more you give thanks the more you receive and the more you become. To be or not to be is to give thanks or not to give thanks.
